World’s prosecutors to meet in Beijing
Representatives of more than 90 countries and regions will converge on Beijing on Monday for an annual gathering of the world’s prosecutors.
The 22nd conference of the International Association of Prosecutors will run until Sept 14 and is expected to attract 500 representatives from association members.
Attendees include justice ministers and senior public procurators, as well as officials from international organizations like the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes.
This year’s conference focuses on the opportunities and challenges prosecutors face in a fast-changing society. It is the second time China has hosted the meeting, with the first time in 1999.
Established in 1995, the association is the only global organization for prosecutors.
