New Party secretary of Wuhan University appointed
Zhu Kongjun has been appointed as the Party secretary of Wuhan University, succeeding Huang Taiyan, according to a decision made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Zhu, who previously served as Party secretary of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong province, will no longer hold that position.
The announcement was made on Friday at a meeting at Wuhan University, a prestigious university located in Hubei province's capital Wuhan city. Zhang Guangjun, vice-minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting and announced the decision.
The meeting was chaired by Zhang Pingwen, president of Wuhan University.
Born in August 1967, Zhu previously served as Party secretary of South China Normal University in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. He then became Party secretary and director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. Most recently, he was Party secretary of Sun Yat-sen University, with a vice-ministerial rank.
