Ruijin Hospital celebrates 118th anniversary with release of medical innovations
Shanghai Ruijin Hospital marked its 118th anniversary by hosting a conference to release technology innovation achievements on Monday, showcasing its commitment to innovation and leadership in the future of healthcare.
In his opening remarks, Ning Guang, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Ruijin Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, highlighted the hospital's enduring dedication to advanced concepts and cutting-edge technologies, emphasizing its ongoing mission to serve and protect the health of patients worldwide.
Hu Weiguo, Party secretary of Ruijin Hospital, outlined the hospital's "AI plus" development strategy at the event, focusing on five key areas: integrating diverse computing power, advancing data governance, tackling algorithms and large models, expanding applications across various scenarios, and fostering industry-research integration.
"Future human-machine collaboration would enable doctors to concentrate more on complex decision-making, humanitarian care, and innovative exploration, driving the growth of the health industry," he said.
To build an open, collaborative, and secure medical AI ecosystem and promote data and model sharing, Ruijin Hospital, along with several renowned hospitals nationwide and technology company Huawei, initiated the establishment of a medical AI alliance. Attendees at the event witnessed the formation of the alliance's preparatory committee.
RuiWatch Pro, a smart health watch, was also introduced at the conference. This next-generation health monitoring device integrates monitoring, early warning, and one-touch emergency assistance, seamlessly connecting dynamic vital signs, individual medical records, and treatment systems to achieve intelligent perception, decision-making, and interaction.
