Macao Red Cross marks 105th anniversary
MACAO -- A reception was held here on Wednesday to mark the 105th anniversary of the Macao Red Cross.
Speaking at the occasion, Sam Hou Fai, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, said the SAR government and the Macao Red Cross had long worked hand-in-hand to advance emergency relief, humanitarian assistance, and the protection of life and human dignity.
He praised the organization's courage and compassion in disaster response and daily service, encouraging the Macao Red Cross to align with the city's high-quality development goals, promote patriotism, enhance service capabilities, and deepen collaboration with the Red Cross Society of China.
Sam also called for leveraging Macao's role as a bridge between China and the rest of the world to advance humanitarian cooperation.
