Chinese legislators urged to study, implement guiding principles of CPC plenum
BEIJING -- Zhao Leji, China's top legislator, on Monday called on his fellow legislators to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles from the fourth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, which was held last week.
Zhao, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, made the remarks at a meeting with NPC deputies who are sitting in on the ongoing session of the NPC Standing Committee.
The key Party plenum deliberated and adopted the Recommendations of the CPC Central Committee for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development.
During the Monday meeting, Zhao called on legislators to fulfill their legislative responsibilities by contributing to the formulation and implementation of the plan. He also urged NPC deputies to begin preparations for next year's NPC session, which will deliberate and approve the plan.
