With more convenient transportation, more distinct ecological achievements, and continuous improvements to people's livelihoods, Ordos has established itself as a model of a high-quality, livable city.
Guided by the goal of building a national ecological demonstration zone, Ordos has established an integrated "1+N" policy system, promoting coordinated innovation in pollution and carbon reduction. Its pollution prevention campaigns have led to steady improvements in air and surface water quality.
Ordos is continuously upgrading its transportation network. Its total highway mileage of 26,361 kilometers is 1.69 times the Inner Mongolia autonomous region's average. The transition to green transportation is accelerating: all public buses in the downtown area are now electric, 1,000 new energy taxis are in service, and toll reductions for these green vehicles have reached 25.21 million yuan ($3.58 million).
With a health information platform covering all citizens, electronic medical records and other health documents can be shared across regions. In 2025, the platform passed a national appraisal, achieving a Grade 5B rating — the highest level for such platforms in China.
Free preschool education has been implemented, with over 58 million yuan in subsidies benefiting more than 30,000 children. High-quality educational resources have been introduced from prestigious universities like Shaanxi Normal University and Central China Normal University, with many partner schools having begun enrollment.
Ordos has allocated 300 million yuan to the elderly care service sector. A convenient "15-minute elderly care service circle" now covers all urban areas, while 51 service centers have been established in rural and pastoral areas, with a model of "self-help + mutual help + subsidy" making the services more accessible.
The city will continue to focus on public demands, set higher standards for urban renewal and governance, optimize its business environment, and strive to become a city of higher quality and greater warmth and vitality.
